Our GOAL is clear: A diploma in every hand; a rewarding career in every future; a contributing member of our global society.

Johansen High School believes that all students, with support and help, can be successful, reflective learners who meet rigorous academic expectations, understand the relevance of their learning in the real world, and establish relationships that foster academic achievement and positive social interactions.

Rigor

All Students:

  • Learn to become life-long, self-directed learners.
  • Meet high expectations with support and interventions as needed.
  • Analyze and solve problems through participation in challenging and coherent standards-aligned, articulated curriculum.
  • Are prepared to interact with digital and media-rich global society.

Relevance

All Students:

  • Participate in a democracy that demands their informed participation.
  • See their learning as a gateway to career path.
  • Apply the basic skills of reading, writing, and mathematics in a variety of meaningful activities and projects.
  • Connect their learning to real-world challenges opportunities.

Relationships

All Students:

  • Communicate and work effectively in a world of diverse viewpoints, belief systems, and cultures.
  • Work and learn in a safe environment.
