Supplemental Educational Services (SES) are additional academic instruction designed to increase the academic achievement of students in schools in the second year of improvement, corrective action, or restructuring.  In order for students to be eligible for SES they must be enrolled in the Free and Reduced Meal program and attend one of the following schools:  Bret Harte, Burbank, El Vista, Fairview, Franklin, Fremont, Garrison, Kirschen, Marshall, Muir, Robertson Road, Shackelford, Tuolumne, Orville Wright, Hanshaw Middle School, La Loma Junior High School, Mark Twain Junior High School, Downey High School, Johansen High School, Modesto High School, and Elliott.

Students receiving FREE or REDUCED Price Meals at Bret Harte, Burbank, El Vista, Fairview, Franklin, Fremont, Garrison, Kirschen, Marshall, Muir, Robertson Road, Shackelford, Tuolumne, Orville Wright, Hanshaw Middle School, La Loma, Mark Twain Junior High School, Downey, Johansen, Modesto High School, and Elliott may be eligible for approximately $1100 of free tutoring.  The No Child Left Behind Act of 2002 requires schools in their second or higher year of Program Improvement to offer extra tutoring, called Supplemental Educational Services.  A four page announcement will be mailed to all homes of eligible children in November.  An additional application will be available on-line.
