Every school day the After School Learning Program provides academic help and guidance, enrichment, and recreation to students in a safe and supportive environment. The program is in session until 6 p.m. at sixteen elementary schools (for students in grades 1 to 6) and at two junior highs (for students in grades 7 and 8). Students get academic help with completing their homework as well as additional instruction to improve their abilities in reading, math, and writing. Students involved in the after school program have been shown to be doing better in school.
